Studio Residency

The CCN Ballet national de Marseille — under the direction of (LA)HORDE — supports companies, artists, and choreographers in developing or finalizing creative projects through financial contributions, studio access, and, in some cases, technical and logistical support, as well as artistic and/or administrative guidance.

Residencies co-produced within the framework of the Studio Residency Program, supported by the French Ministry of Culture:

The Studio Residency Program, supported by the French Ministry of Culture, is aimed at artists who pay particular attention to the dynamics of representation of dance and bodies in the era of the Internet — a concept described by (LA)HORDE as “post-Internet dances.” The program is open to choreographic and performative works, as well as film and installation projects.

The CCN Ballet national de Marseille publishes two open calls per year:

in September, for residencies taking place between January and July of the following year

in February, for residencies taking place between August and December of the current year

Depending on studio availability, the CCN Ballet national de Marseille may also provide rehearsal space to local companies.

Audience engagement projects are conceived as open spaces dedicated to experimentation around contemporary creation, for and by groups of individuals and communities, within the Ballet national de Marseille, in its surroundings, and across the wider Marseille area.

Each season, formats are reimagined and developed with a strong commitment to inclusivity and the sharing of experiences with all audiences.
