At the invitation of the Théâtre de la Ville and the Théâtre du Châtelet, (LA)HORDE presents a program created with the Ballet national de Marseille, bringing together four choreographers with distinct yet complementary universes: Lucinda Childs, Tânia Carvalho, Lasseindra Ninja, and Oona Doherty each embodying an emblematic, inclusive, and engaged choreographic language.

An inclusive form that bridges expressionist plasticity and the physical theatre of today’s social bodies, connecting the avant-garde of Postmodern Dance with the French pioneer of Ballroom. Through the plurality of choreographic writings and generations brought together in this program, (LA)HORDE once again sketches the horizons of an unbounded dance from the most structured to the most visceral.

A face off between two conceptions of dance. On one side, the surge of Oona Doherty the Belfast prodigy whose dance is raw, urban, and highly energetic and Lasseindra Ninja the queer icon of Voguing in France who create, for the first time, a work for a group of dancers. On the other, the rigor and clarity of Lucinda Childs and Tânia Carvalho, who build from compositional images, sharing a precise sense of line and rhythm.

A one-hour-and-fifteen-minute program composed of short pieces (10–20 minutes) by Lucinda Childs, Tânia Carvalho, Lasseindra Ninja, and Oona Doherty, performed by the dancers of the Ballet national de Marseille.
