Liam Warren – MERGE (Studio Residency 2021)

A former dancer with Ballet Preljocaj, Liam Warren founded his company, now structured as RIFT. His research focuses on the human body and its capacity to adapt or respond to constraints. Merge is rooted in this physical approach to dance.

In a world where the individual is constantly at the crossroads of multiple interactions, Merge offers a singular reading of collective coexistence: five bodies move within a continuous circular flow, bound by a single physical force rotation. The lines that distinguish the bodies blur until the body is reduced to a mere shell of kinetic energy, transcending all isolating social divisions.

Liam Warren constructs a complex choreographic system of interweaving, in which each dancer follows their own trajectory while being magnetized by a gravitational force at the center. All elements movement, light, sound merge into a vibratory field, producing a hypnotic vortex.
