Sati Veyrunes – MOTOR UNIT (Studio Residency 2025)

In contemporary dance, we tend to know the works and the names of choreographers, but rarely those of the performers. Yet through the different embodiments that reveal their many facets, a performer also writes a body of work, creating a distinct artistic landscape.

For this new project, Sati Veyrunes approaches creation from the performer’s perspective, drawing on the work of two artists, Erna Ómarsdóttir and Adrienn Hód. “What would a piece be if it were a selection, made by the performer of pre-existing choreographic materials developed over a ten-year period?” A new solo emerges from this desire to create with what already exists.
