Cie Labotilar x Cie Eilena D – PHOBOS (Studio Residency 2023)

Angel Martinez Hernandez and Vito Giotta join forces here with Vito Cassano. With a cast of six performers, the three artists explore the subjective experience of time suspended or fleeting, depending on each individual’s memory.

Within an expanded mental landscape, inspired by works by the painters Salvador Dalí and Giorgio de Chirico, they take as their guide in the darkness the blazing figure of Phobos (the Greek god of fear, armed with lightning).

Through a delirious nocturnal journey, shaped by an alternation of realistic and dreamlike scenes, temporalities shift and blur. And, in this journey to the end of the night, things are not always what they seem…
