Wendy Cornu – Volutes (Studio Residency 2021)

How can a musical genome, once translated through the dancer’s physical expertise, carry meaning and shape a complex, nuanced dance?

In Volutes, each dancer-instrument becomes the translator of sound in its dynamic dimension, while the stage space itself becomes a score. Through this immediate translation of sound, kinesthetic and musical composition synchronize, enhancing one another.

Continuing her exploration of composition and its supports, Wendy Cornu proposes with Volutes an organic dance experience in which the original relationship is reversed: to watch music and to listen to dance.
