Peeping Tom

Peeping Tom is a Belgian dance and theater company founded by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier. In 1999, working closely with Eurudike De Beul, a member of the company, they created their first joint piece, Caravana, set inside a mobile home. Peeping Tom's work is marked by the intense physical and personal commitment of its performers, who convey human frustrations and unspoken feelings.

Since 2013, Peeping Tom has been collaborating with other companies and theaters. In 2013, Gabriela Carrizo created The Missing Door with the Nederlands Dans Theater, then produced The Land two years later with the Residenztheater in Munich.

The company's work has won numerous awards. For example, Peeping Tom won the FEDORA – VAN CLEEF & ARPELS prize in 2021 and was awarded the title of Best Indoor Show for Moeder at the Festival Internacional de Teatro y Artes de Calle in Valladolid (Spain) in 2018.

In 2022, the Ballet National de Marseille and Peeping Tom are collaborating for the first time on the show OIWA, a play about couples, with a supernatural spirit set in a dimension made up of memories, imagination, and the ghosts of past and future lovers. OIWA is one of six plays in the ROOMMATES program.
