In 10 years of career Erwan Castex aka RONE has established himself as a key figure in the French electronic music scene, always seeking to cross the boundaries of electronic music. After a singular live performance at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2017 - for which he won the Prix des Indés - he proposes for the program «Variations», a reinterpretation of works by composer Benjamin Britten, accompanied by the Maîtrise de Radio France and its choir director Sofi Jeannin.
RONE then presents Motion, a 12-minute electro-classical piece, with the orchestra Les Siècles conducted by François-Xavier Roth.
His music has also become a manifest ally of global environmental advocacy from sailor Hugo Picard aka The Sailing Frenchman who uses his tracks to communicate with whales and dolphins to Greta Thunberg for one of her warning videos.
Most recently, he played nine performances of Room With A View at the Théâtre du Châtelet. The premiere is followed on April 24, 2020 by the release of the eponymous album, his fifth album. The premature end of the performances of Room With A View and its tour gives RONE all the more desire to create and collaborate. This is how the album Rone & Friends was born, released on March 26, 2021, a collection of 12 collaborations where the voices of Jehnny Beth, Dominique A, Flavien Berger, Yael Naim, Camelia Jordana, Georgia and Alain Damasio meet.
In March 2021, RONE won the César award for best original music of the feature film La Nuit venue by Frédéric Farrucci, released on April 1, 2020.
