Born in 1973, Dalila Belaza is trained in parallel to dance and foreign languages. She has been interpreting Nacera Belaza’s choreographic pieces for about twenty years. From 2012, she has lead projects alone or in collaboration with other artists from different disciplinary fields and has created her own company in 2020.
Resulting from an encounter with a folkdance group Lous Castellous de Sénergues from Aveyron, Au coeur brings together two foreign worlds - folklore and contemporary - in search of a common language. The challenge is to explore the space of porosity between them and her, between their respective dances.
In Au coeur, Dalila Belaza questions the state of emergence of a gesture, contained between the dancer and the folklore, both specific to the dancer and which connects him to others and to the world. This staging of a gesture - that is both intimate and unifying - brings together the work of Dalila Belaza with that of (LA)HORDE.
