João De Castro Franca

João studied classical ballet and contemporary dance at the Palácio das Artes artistic training center in Belo Horizonte in 2011, before joining Ballet Jovem Palácio das Artes under the artistic direction of Andrea Maia.

In 2013, he took part in Viva, Vive!, a collaborative performance between Black Box Dance Company and Ballet Jovem, directed by Marie Brolin-Tani. In 2020, he performed under the direction of Matthew Bourne, and joined Scottish Dance Theatre, led by Joan Clevillé, the following year.

João joined the Ballet national de Marseille as a dancer in 2022.
