The Ballet National de Marseille is continuing and extending its Open Studio initiative. During 2006, in addition to offering financial support to eight companies in the form of co-productions, the Ballet has welcomed fifteen companies – mainly from Marseille and/or the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region – for residences. They have had use of the studios for a total of 334 days, almost 100 days more than in 2005! At the request of some of the choreographers and dancers in residence, public rehearsals and/or a presentation of the early stages of their work have been organised in the studios.
The Ballet has made a financial commitment to supporting the following companies in 2007 :
Franck II Louise with « Konnecting Souls », Michel Kelemenis with « Pasodoble », Samir Elyamni with « DI-GAME », ThierryThieu Niang with « A Bout de Souffle », CUBE / Christian Ubl with « KLAP KLAP ! », Collectif K.O.com / Manon Avram with « Dyptique II ».
