"Ou Pas" I Christian Rizzo & Caty Olive
27.06 10pm>midnight I Roof Deck
Still at the Tour Panorama of La Friche de la Belle de Mai : "Ou Pas", installation by Christian Rizzo with the complicity of Caty Olive for luminous space. Exhibition opened during all the month of June. With the performers as part of "48H CHRONO" of la Friche.
With a bal moderne on the 27.05 from 10 pm, on the roof deck of la Friche, with the BNM dancers, David Le Thai, Marcos Marco and Angelo Vergari.
Whether hanging loose without a dancer to wear them or hampering movement, costumes have often been a constituent part of Christian Rizzo’s work. His approach to clothing has attracted the interest of couture houses, even though the choreographer specifies that “from the moment fashion enters a theatre, it becomes a costume”.
The choreographer Christian Rizzo and his associate, Caty Olive, for whom light is a form of writing for the stage, have devised a living installation out of some of the 3,500 items that have dressed the company’s stars since the days of Roland Petit. In "Ou Pas" the performers are invited to an introspective abandonment, carried by the enigmatic encounter between their contemporary presence and history-laden costumes.
Diaphanous tutus, velvet, feathers and ostentatious embroidery : the installation proves very attractive (…) an invitation to contemplation and imagination. Adèle de Keyser - Ventilo
A trip-like performance, “Ou Pas” invites the audience to contemplate and get their imagination working hard. Antoine Pateffoz - La Marseillaise
