Michèle Noiret/Alain Lagarde [CREATION]
After creating work for dancers at the Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris, Belgian choreographer Michèle Noiret is now a guest at the BNM. Given rhythm by a choreographic writing full of contrast, this piece has been constructed in the course of research undertaken simultaneously with the involvement of dancers from the Ballet as well as with the stage designer, video maker, lighting designer and composer. Flowing from this against the backdrop of a surprising set are worlds that are enigmatic, intimate, fragile and violent, but always profoundly human.
Le Trouble de Narcisse
A revival of this piece by Frédéric Flamand and New York architects Diller+Scofidio. A subtle interplay with video screens creates a life-size presence of two-dimensional movement alongside the three-dimensional presence of the dancers. Whether seeing a live body or an image of the body, matching the dancer in flesh and bone with his or her video counterpart allows the complex relationship between the real and the mediatised to be exploited.
11 to 14 May 2011 - 8pm [11/05 - 7pm]
Marseille premiere of this iconic piece in Frédéric Flamand’s repertoire made in collaboration with the architects Diller+Scofidio and loosely based on Nijinsky’s uncensored diaries. The media are unanimous in their praise:
Moving Target astonishes us and fills us with wonder with its inventiveness, variety and vitality. Le Figaro/ Moving Target has huge visual ambition. Le Nouvel Observateur/ Flamand’s dance literally gets all its kicks. (…) Magical and playful. La Provence/ Definitely a must-see. La Marseillaise
