MOMENTUM

Emio Greco I Pieter C. Scholten

A momentum is a social dynamic around a decisive moment. When bodies come together and are curious about change, they can provide sufficient critical mass and energy to come to a tipping point. Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten take the starting point of the point work to create a piece about balance and change.

Since 2012, Greco and Scholten work with the overarching theme of ‘The Body in Revolt’. In Momentum the body is the blueprint of the revolution. First the body prepares for the turn, the rest will follow. When the body is brought out of balance, it will search for a new way of living. Greco and Scholten consider the theatre as a micro – society where people come together in the moment, in the here and now.

Also in previous work as Le corps du ballet and Extremalism the power of the mass and the body were important sources of inspiration for Greco and Scholten.  In Momentum the bodies will come to a change. But what happens next?
