Kengo Nanjo, born in Japan, starts dancing at the age of three at the Nowa Ballet in Chigasaki. When he was thirteen, he continued perfectionning his technique at the K2 Ballet Space in Tokyo. Two years later he left Japan to start his dancing career at the Staatliche Ballettschule in Berlin.
At the age of seventeen, Kengo joined the company Die Theater Chemnitz (DE), one year later he started dancing at the Ballet National de MarseilleWhat does the body in revolt mean to you?
I feel the body in revolt strongly in a piece like Extremalism. The group moves me and gives me energy. It’s the strength of the group and at the same time the individual freedom that creates the body in revolt.
