Ángel Martínez Hernández was born in Coria del Río, Seville, Spain, in 1986. He started his career in C.A.D. (Centro Andaluz de Danza) (1998-2005) on an apprentice programme directed by Ramón Oller and Pilar Pérez. During this period Ángel got a scholarship from C.A.D. to join I.T Danza in Barcelona, Spain. He continued his formation in D.A.N.C.E (2005-2007) - an apprentice programme directed by Wayne McGregor, William Forsythe, Frédéric Flamand and Angelin Preljocaj . During this period Ángel was awarded two prizes in a choreographer contest in Madrid, Spain, for a solo work, “Cartas para Wendy” (2006), and a duet “In2” (2007). In August 2007, Ángel joined the Ballet National de Marseille directed by Frédéric Flamand and dances in Flamand’s répertoire. In August 2008, he joined Wayne McGregor | Random Dance in 2008 and dances in "Entity". In September 2009, he cam back to Ballet National de Marseille to take part to the new creation of Frédéric Flamand.
