Born in the Italian town of Putignano in 1983, Vito Giotta trained with Annalisa Bellini in Castellana Grotte before entering the Scuola del Balletto di Toscana run by Cristina Bozzolini when he was 18. His contemporary dance training was perfected under Samuele Cardini in Florence and at the age of 22 he was selected for D.A.N.C.E, the European dance training and professional insertion scheme run by William Forsythe, Frédéric Flamand, Wayne McGregor and Angelin Preljocaj. He joined the Ballet National de Marseille in 2007, and has been cast in repertory pieces (for example by Childs and Endo) and in all of Frédéric Flamand’s creations.
